Beautiful Buffet

I’ve finally settled on what to put on my buffet.  There was nothing wrong with what was there.

It just wasn’t me.

I’d been waiting to decorate the buffet for Debbiedoo’s Magazine Copycat Challenge  until one day, I “let go” of the notion that  keeping this vignette full time wouldn’t work because it wasn’t “real”…  just something pretty to look at and served no function at all.

Here’s the magazine inspiration.

Pardon the wrinkles. They come from years of sitting in my idea binder.   I’ve had this page for so long that I can’t remember where it came from, but it is possibly Cottage Living.

I LOVE it!  There is nothing wrong with appreciating something simply for its beauty.  In fact, it’s a good thing.

So, out with the old

and in with the new!

This diy chalkboard is very easy to make.

Finally, the magazine picture isn’t a “some day” source waiting in my idea binder, but a reality!

What realities have you made happen lately?

Until next time,

Sharon

  3. Love it! You could even change what’s in the bowl to lemons and then put a lemon meringue recipe etc. Very nice! I thinks it adds a coziness to the space.

  12. Hi Sharon … looks really good and I love apple pie. Sunflowers are my favorite as they go with so many seasons. In fact, they are in my kitchen year round. Good job.

    • So delighted you like my vignette, Karen. I’m fond of apple pie, too. Since it is my husband’s favorite, I’m learning to make it from scratch…crust and all. I’ve baked an apple pie twice now, but too much time in between. I think the third time will be the charm.

  16. Hi Sharon -

I like your “After” version of the magazine inspiration photo better. It looks beautiful. I have lots of clippings from Cottage Living, too. That was such a great magazine. I was sad to see how it went away and it did come back, but not quite at the same caliber.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend and thanks for stopping by my blog.

    My best- Diane
