Meet Mrs. Hines

Hi!  I’m so glad you found my “class”.  I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter and a homemaker.   I was Mrs. Hines, the teacher for many years.  I have to say that I love being called Mrs. Hines, but you may call me Sharon. 🙂
Although I’m no longer in the classroom, I still have a teacher’s heart.  I have a desire  for inspiring others to dream big and follow their passions.  It grieves me to see people settle and sort of just stop in life.   As a teacher, I see it as my responsibility to push loved ones to live life to the fullest.    So how will I teach you?   The best way for any teacher to be effective is to model, model, model.        In the classroom, that means demonstrating a lesson or activity so the kids can learn from example.   In this case, it means, writing, taking pictures and video and posting it in this blog for all to see.  I was much more confident in my skills in the classroom than I am as a blogger.  That’s okay.  If I can do the macarena with a class full of five-year-olds and an audience of parents, then surely I can let you watch me on this blogging adventure.  What will I teach you?  I’m going to share my journey as I go about turning my house into a home.   I will blog about decorating and diy projects.  Since I love to cook, I will throw in inspiration from the kitchen, too.   In the Spring, we’ll get out in the yard and do some gardening.  In all of this, the lessons will unfold.  They always do.   Please come along with me for the  lessons that await in Mrs. Hines’ class.

A little bit more about me:

~I love to spend time with family and friends.

~I’ve been a diy decorator for about 20 years.

~I LOVE organizition; an organized space is like a drug.  It gives me a natural high.

~I love being in my 40’s.

~I’m a cat owner.

~Cottages are my absolute favorite style of home.  There’s just something so inviting about front porches and intimate spaces.

~I can never get enough of the beach.

~My Dad taught me how to paint and how to landscape.  He’s quite the handyman.

~My Mom and I love to go antiquing.  She taught me that you can find great treasures at thrift stores and garage sales.  Now, I love the thrill of the hunt.

~I consider myself a writer and would love to one day be a published author.

~My husband is a minister.

~I enjoy having a glass, or two, of red wine with good friends and good food.

~I’m a big time fan of the 80’s!

~My favorite color is blue; especially aqua.

~ My favorite music is anything from the 80’s, today’s country.  I love live music.

~I’m an oldest child.

~I’m a Native Texan and have never lived out of state.  In fact, I’ve never lived outside the Greater Houston Metro Area.

~There are lots of places that I would love to visit including the deep South, Seattle, the East Coast, Colorado and the Midwest.

It’s been fun sharing a little bit about me and giving you a peek into my world.  I can’t wait to get to know you a little better too!
