Last week when I featured susan’s beautiful buffet decor, I mentioned that I love it so much that I was inspired to create my own version. Susan wrote to say she hoped I would show y’all my version…So, this post is dedicated to Susan at Living Rich on Less.
To refresh your memory, this is Susan’s buffet decor
I just love the sparkly, simple elegance of this vignette.
I don’t have the space for a full-sized buffet, but I still wanted a surface to be able to have a pair of lamps in the dining room. This past summer, I bought a console from Hobby Lobby. It was on sale, and with my gift card, I only paid $30 for it. Not bad..
My lamps were in the garage in the donate pile until l found some pretty, new ivory lamp shades for $5 each at TJ Maxx. Now I love the lamps.
I like that the lamp base coordinates with my Ballard’s knock off mirror.
And, since my console is so much smaller than a buffet, I had to improvise on the hurricane vases.
Working with items that I already had, I turned a pair of crystal candle stick holders upside down. Then placed a votive holder on top.
For the greenery, I’m using an artificial ivy that I’ve had for awhile.
It will do for now, but I would like to replace it with a live plant.
Put all of the elements together, and here is my version of Susan’s buffet vignette.
Thanks for the inspiration, Susan!
How have you been inspired by other bloggers?
Until next time,
Sharon

Beautiful..Glad you were able to rescue the lamps from the garage!..They are definitely happy to be home again! I too love turning things upside down!

I’m glad I was able to keep the lamps too. Lots cheaper than starting over with new lamps. So what have you turned upside down? LOL!

Sharon, I love your interpretation of the buffet decor! Thanks for the shout out. By the way, a Hobby Lobby just opened up near my hometown. I raced over on Saturday to check it out. That store is truly life-changing! And very, very dangerous for those of us trying to live rich on less;)

I’m so glad you like it, Susan. You are going to find that you can come up with all kinds of reasons to need to go to Hobby Lobby! 🙂 It is truly dangerous…but you’re going to love it!!

Hi Sharon. Thank you for your visit and tagging along! I have been wanting a slim table for a space similar to your one , so am thrilled to see how you have turned it into a petite buffet! Amazing what we can “make do” with and it still looks amazing!

This looks great. I have almost the exact same thing in my dining room. No room for a buffet but I have a tiny table with 2 lamps. The one thing that makes me really nervous is when mirrors are leaning on a table…like Susan’s. How do you make sure they don’t come tumbling down? :o)

Oh, Ann, I love your style so your compliment just made my day! I love the leaning look, but like you, I don’t know the trick to keep them from sharing Humpty Dumpty’s fate. ;0 Thank for visiting…come back anytime. !
